Adirondack Chair

Here’s my next project – a new kitchen table! Learned a lot here about round tables. There’s a dent in the middle where the tabletop was dropped on the edge of something, but overall it was another good learning experience. Now we need new chairs!!
Here is the audio of Megan’s Recital for her Masters’ Degree from UNCG. The pieces are:

As a gift for my tea-loving daughter, I thought I’d make a tea box. This is my first project with something this small. I used black walnut wood for everything but the bottom and the interior walls – those are cherry.

My wife wanted a shelf to go in the guest bedroom. We looked around for a while and she decided that she liked the ladder style the best, So I looked around at different options and I saw one on Amazon that looked nice. It’s also free-standing, so it’s easy to maove and doesn’t need to rest directly on the wall.
I know planning is important and I spent a bit of time working out the best angle and size the shelves would need to be. I’m happy with how it turned out. I think I need to get better on finishes. Again, I learned a lot and next time I will be doing a better job with joinery. But as with life, it is a journey of exploration and learning!
Also, here you can see the wall color of the guest room. It is a much brighter color than the color in my first post before we painted. Three coats of primer and 2 coats of paint later, I didn’t want to paint any more! But after getting pull-out love seat and a nice area rug, the guest room is done! Looking great!
A little while ago, I saw a Facebook post that President Trump is the only one that stands in the way of Democrats taking away your Christian values. I’ve been trying to stay away from politics as it gets my blood pressure up, but I need to state that nobody can take your values away except when you decide to change them yourself. I resent that each political party is trying to make the other out to be an enemy. The quickest way to bring people together is to create a common enemy. But the best way to get people to stay together is with respect and love. The quick way is easy, the best way is hard, but isn’t that what our Christian values demand of us?
